OUR BACKGROUND

A Strong Legacy of Friendship and Strategic Cooperation

The relationship between Pakistan and China has evolved into one of the region’s most enduring partnerships. Built on mutual respect, trust, and shared interests, this relationship continues to expand across economic, strategic, cultural, educational, and technological domains.

1951: The Beginning

Pakistan and China established diplomatic relations in 1951, laying the foundation for an All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership built on trust, mutual respect, and shared values.

CPEC Phase-II: A New Era

The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has entered its Phase-II, focusing on industrialization, Special Economic Zones, mining, agriculture, Gwadar Port connectivity, technology cooperation, and socio-economic uplift.

PCECC: The Strategic Link

PCECC plays a vital role in transforming state-level goodwill into tangible B2B collaborations, investment flows, knowledge exchange, institutional partnerships, and joint research outcomes for long-term impact.

Introduction to the Council

The Pakistan China Economic and Cultural Council (PCECC) is an independent and forward-looking institutional platform dedicated to
strengthening economic cooperation, cultural understanding, and strategic collaboration between Pakistan and China. The Council serves as a professional bridge facilitating engagement between businesses, policymakers, academic institutions, investors, and development partners from both countries. By aligning its initiatives with long-term regional policies and bilateral development frameworks, PCECC seeks to complement governmental efforts while providing practical, structured avenues for cooperation.

The Council’s core purpose is to institutionalize bilateral collaboration in a way that promotes sustainable economic growth, industrial progress, and societal development. Through coordinated programs, sector-focused initiatives, and strategic dialogue, PCECC aims to translate diplomatic goodwill into measurable economic and developmental outcomes.

Our Vision

To become the leading platform for promoting sustainable economic, cultural, educational, and strategic cooperation between Pakistan and China, fostering a shared future of prosperity, peace, and development.

Our Mission

The Pakistan-China Economic & Cultural Council (PCECC) is dedicated to deepening the enduring bond between both nations through active people-to-people connectivity and structured bilateral collaboration. By facilitating business-to-business (B2B) trade, joint ventures, and strategic investments, the Council actively accelerates regional integration and infrastructure development under the framework of CPEC. Alongside economic progress, PCECC bridges communities through rich cultural diplomacy, academic alliances, technology transfer, and joint research initiatives.
